Then we also visited San Ignacio which has ruins of an old Jesuite mission from the 17th century. They had a sound water and light show there in the night which was pretty well done. Misiones being THE 'mate' province, that tea like drink so popular in Argentina, we had to visit one of the factories. It was really interesting to see how that works, collecting the leaves, drying them, chopping them in different sizes, and mixing them in the right proportion before packaging. The factory had this funny old style feel which was really nice.
We also did a bit of kayaking on the Parana river and a hike in the forrest nearby. We visited one of the precious stones mines and coucluded the busy 4 days with of course an asado (argetinian style barbecue) It's served at the table on a mini barbecue to keep the meat warm throughout the dinner. It got me full with meat for the next 2 days...:-) Thanks Laura and Fede for an awesome trip!
